Benjamin Gilman International Scholarship
The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program provides merit-based funding for U.S. undergraduate students with high financial need to study or intern abroad. Designed to expand access to international experiences, the program supports students in developing global perspectives, professional networks, and, in some cases, foreign language skills that are increasingly valuable in today’s interconnected world. Eligibility is limited to undergraduate students who receive the federal Pell Grant, ensuring the program supports those with demonstrated financial need. Awards of up to $5,000 are available, with additional funding opportunities for students studying critical languages or participating in STEM-related research abroad.

Do You Need a Passport?
The Brenda Brown Passport Scholarship
This Scholarship helps U.S. students take their first step toward studying or working abroad by covering the cost of obtaining a passport. It is intended for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students who have not previously traveled internationally and may face financial barriers to getting a passport. To be eligible, applicants must be U.S. citizens, currently enrolled in school, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, and be applying for their first U.S. passport. The scholarship focuses on removing this initial barrier, making international opportunities more accessible from the very beginning.
